Sen. Barack Obama took offense to Rudy Giuliani’s remark that America could face another terrorist attack if a Democrat is elected President. Said Obama:
“Rudy Giuliani today has taken the politics of fear to a new low and I believe Americans are ready to reject those kind of politics.”
Actually, that’s not a new low at all. Giuliani is right. If a Democrat becomes President, the first item on the agenda (”The First 100 Days: Total Humiliation!”) will be to withdraw troops. Don’t believe me? Here is the proof, from the 4/26 Democratic candidate debate:
Bill Richardson: “The first day I would get us out of Iraq by diplomacy.”
Hillary Clinton: “If this president does not get us out of Iraq, when I am president, I will.”
This will result in the emboldenment of the terrorists, who will – as others have already pointed out – “follow us home” to attack again on our own soil. A Democrat in the White House will result in more terrorist attacks against America. There is no “new low” about it. It’s not politics. It’s the truth.
And contrary to what Obama thinks, America is not only ready to hear it, she’s ready to prevent it.
Editor’s note: This post originally appeared in April, 2007. In hindsight I think my examples were a bit of a stretch, but recent events in Benghazi have pretty much proven Giuliani correct.
